Experience the color, texture, pattern, and construction of the Tessaro stitched cowhide rug before commissioning a full-size piece.

This substantial 16" × 24" sample is individually constructed from genuine hair-on cowhide in the featured warm camel and caramel colorway. Precisely cut rectangles alternate between horizontal and vertical orientations, creating a tailored basket-weave pattern enhanced by the natural variation and changing hair direction of the cowhide.

Each rectangular element measures approximately 2" × 4". Two elements placed side by side create a precise 4" square, which becomes the repeating unit throughout the design. Named Tessaro for its textile-like geometry, the pattern balances orderly construction with the organic character of natural cowhide.

The sample is made using the same materials and techniques as the full-size Tessaro rug, including individually cut cowhide elements, coordinating stitched seams, finished edges, and Furug’s protective felt backing with nonslip grip dots.

Custom colors, dimensions, shapes, and border treatments may be developed when commissioning a full-size Tessaro rug. Because cowhide is a natural material, the sample should be considered a color and construction reference rather than an exact representation of every hide used in the finished rug.

Alternative colors and palettes may be explored when commissioning a full-size rug. Because genuine cowhide naturally varies in tone, texture, markings, and hair direction, the sample serves as a material and color reference rather than an exact dye-lot match.

Every sample is constructed from individually cut pieces of genuine hair-on cowhide joined with coordinating stitching. Natural changes in hair direction create subtle variations in texture, color, and reflectivity.

The underside is finished with Furug’s protective felt backing and nonslip grip dots, matching the construction used for full-size stitched cowhide rugs.

In-stock samples are ready to ship and will be carefully packaged to protect the cowhide during delivery.
