Island pathways, interpreted in natural cowhide.

Paros translates an irregular, stone-inspired motif into a rhythmic field of warm natural cowhide. Ivory shapes measuring approximately 5 inches long and up to 2 inches wide are arranged in structured rows, while subtle differences in contour, spacing, hair direction, and tone keep the composition organic rather than rigid.

Shown in natural brown with ivory accents, Paros balances graphic contrast with the inherent variation of genuine cowhide. Every piece is individually selected, cut, arranged, and stitched, making each finished rug naturally one of a kind.

THE STORY BEHIND PAROS

Named for my absolute favorite island in Greece, the Paros design draws inspiration from the pale, whitewashed stone pathways that wind through the island’s villages. Irregular ivory cowhide shapes recall the hand-laid stones underfoot, set against a warm brown ground for depth and contrast. Arranged in rows yet naturally varied, the pattern captures the relaxed, sun-washed beauty of Paros.

Because cowhide is a natural material, markings, tonal variation, hair direction, and individual piece placement will vary. These distinctions are part of the character of every Furug rug.

Choose your preferred standard size and complete your purchase online. Within one to two business days, a Furug team member will contact you to confirm the colorway, finishing border and final specifications.

Once the design is approved, it is sent to our artisan workshop in Brazil, where each piece of cowhide is individually selected, cut, arranged and stitched. Production begins only after the final specifications have been approved.

Our stitched rug collection may be commissioned in the colorway shown or personalized using natural cowhide and any of our 30 dyed colors. Metallic finishes, embossed hides and other specialty materials are also available by custom quote.

Custom dimensions, runners and wall installations are available. For an entirely original pattern, Furug can develop the initial concept, prepare a digital mock-up and refine the design and colorway with you before production.

Each rug is handcrafted from individually cut pieces of genuine cowhide and finished with a coordinating 1- to 2-inch perimeter border for a tailored, polished appearance.

Unlike unbacked stitched rugs, Furug rugs are finished with protective felt and discreet rubber grip dots. The backing protects the underlying stitching, provides a more substantial finish and helps reduce movement without requiring a separate rug pad on most flooring surfaces.

Natural variation in tone, markings and hair direction is expected and makes every finished rug one of a kind.

Production generally requires approximately 6–8 weeks following approval of the final colorway and specifications. Transit time is additional, and delivery details will be provided when the completed rug is ready to ship.

Because each rug is produced specifically for its purchaser, made-to-order and custom rugs are final sale and cannot be canceled once production has begun. Please contact Furug before ordering if you would like assistance with color, sizing or placement.
