Natural Icelandic Sheepskin Rug – Copper Noir

Natural Icelandic Sheepskin Rug – Copper Noir

Dramatic natural color and exceptionally long wool give our Copper Noir Icelandic sheepskins their unmistakable character. Rich chestnut and copper-brown tones move through deep black and charcoal, creating a warm, dimensional palette found entirely in the natural fleece.

Icelandic sheepskins are known for their long, flowing wool and wonderfully untamed texture. Each hide develops its own pattern of color, markings and tonal variation, making these particularly striking pieces for interiors where natural materials and individuality matter.

NATURAL COLOR. INDIVIDUAL CHARACTER.

No two Icelandic sheepskins are exactly alike. Differences in color placement, markings, wool length and texture occur naturally and are part of what makes each hide unique.

Copper Noir is defined by its combination of warm brown and dramatically darker wool, but the balance and pattern vary from hide to hide. One may feature subtle cream accents while another has a more prominent ivory marking — which is why Furug lets you choose the individual sheepskin that speaks to you.

Drape an Icelandic sheepskin over a lounge chair, bench or the foot of a bed, or use it as a richly textural accent rug. Its exceptionally long wool brings softness and dimension to both contemporary and traditional interiors.

Each Furug sheepskin is individually selected for its quality, natural beauty and distinctive character.

Every Furug sheepskin is selected for the qualities that make natural wool exceptional—texture, color, character, scale and overall beauty. We seek out distinctive European sheepskins, unusual breeds and naturally beautiful colorations rather than treating natural variation as something to standardize.

Each piece is chosen individually for its quality and character. When Choose Your Hide is available, the sheepskin shown is the exact piece you will receive, allowing you to select the actual color, markings, wool texture, shape and dimensions that best suit your space.

Interior designers turn to Furug for distinctive natural materials selected for exceptional quality, character and individuality. Our sheepskins are chosen for their wool texture, natural coloration, scale and the unique qualities that make each piece one of a kind.

When Choose Your Hide is available, each sheepskin is individually photographed so designers can select the exact piece for their project—providing confidence in the color, markings, texture, shape and dimensions before specifying.

Sheepskin is naturally resilient and requires relatively little routine care. Gently shake the hide outdoors periodically to release dust and restore the wool. For longer-wool sheepskins, a soft brush or wide-tooth comb may be used when appropriate to refresh the fibers.

For small spills, blot promptly with a clean, absorbent cloth rather than rubbing. Avoid saturating the hide, machine washing, harsh detergents and direct heat.

For significant cleaning, we recommend consulting a professional cleaner experienced with genuine sheepskin and leather-backed hides.
